Arrivals Day: “Connect”

Word of the Day: “Connect”

Although yesterday was a sad day with the majority of our students from the first course returning home, we could not wait to welcome our new students for the next two weeks.

Arrivals day is always one of the most anticipated days at CAE. Although many students had had long and tiring journeys (some even as long as 4 days!) all arrived with smiles on their faces to greet their new friends and staff members.

Activities were kept light in the afternoon, with many students connecting with each other friends whilst playing chess or card games in the common room. Our continuing students helped to make our new students feel at home by teaching them a favourite card game of theirs: ‘Irish Snap’.

In the evening, we broke the ice in some group activities to get to know each other better.

We began by learning each others’ names in the ‘Musical Name Game’ which concluded in a fierce dance off.

Another highlight was the ‘snowball fight’ where students wrote down a fun fact about themselves on paper ‘snowballs’. After the excitement of throwing them at each other, they had to connect each fun fact to one of the other students.

With all of our new students safely arrived and in great spirits, we look set for another fantastic two weeks at CAE Stamford 2026.
