Word of the Day: “Helpful”

With a new week comes new weekly activities for our MH and OBH students. This week they could choose between Film-making and Art and Design.

In Art and Design our students got stuck into some clay crafting, making some beautiful coasters and pinch pot fish. Although quite a messy process, the results were brilliant!

Meanwhile, in Film-making our budding directors made a start on planning their cinematic masterpieces. Students worked together to create stories bursting with creativity. We are all curious to see what they come out with!

After letting the creative juices flow, everyone’s brain got a break with some good old-fashioned sport. PHC students joined the younger classes for either some Football or Swimming to let off some steam before dinner.

We ended the day with a truly ‘egg-citing’ activity! Egg-fest 2026!

The House teams were tasked with building a device that would protect a raw egg from a fall from a second-story window. With only 15 minutes and very limited materials, this was a very tough challenge!

Students then got involved in our ‘Egg Roulette’ which involved having an egg cracked on their head which could be either raw or hard-boiled. Lucky students just felt a tap of the head, whilst those less fortunate got a handful of raw egg in their hair. Let’s just say that quite a few hair-washes were needed afterwards!

However, by the end of the evening, some students had egg on their face… literally!

It wouldn’t be Egg Fest without the classic Egg and Spoon Race where students had to get from one end to the other whilst carefully balancing their egg on a spoon.

Students encouraged each other to cross the finish line and demonstrated brilliant teamwork across this unique set of challenges.
